Brett Construction Co. is a full service contracting company with a history spanning over 25 years based in Lexington, KY. Our client base is comprised of industrial, institutional, office, retail, manufacturing and commercial companies throughout the state of Kentucky and beyond. We specialize in design/build construction projects, and also offer structural steel capabilities and a line of pre-engineered buildings.

Our management staff has extensive background in design-build construction, design-assist construction, construction management oversight, pre-construction services and preliminary estimating. OUR TEAM

Brett T. Setzer

Chief Executive Officer

Brett has been involved in the construction industry since 1981 when he worked part-time while attending college. His thirty-five years of experience include hands-on training in steel erection, concrete work, roofing, and siding. After gaining field experience, Brett began working with customers to help develop their ideas into working designs. He is currently active in marketing, project estimating, and client coordination during all phases of the construction project. He has been involved in the construction and completion of over 450 projects to date.

Denny Boom

President

With more than 25 years of commercial construction experience, his responsibilities include overall project management, oversight of design and production, scheduling on-site management and overall operations. Prior to joining Brett Construction Co. in 2012, Mr. Boom served as President + CEO of Panattoni Construction, a national design-build construction company for 16 years. During that time the company grew from 5 regional offices to 22 national offices. Under his leadership, the company completed more than 120 million square feet of office, industrial, distribution, and retail space valued at over $3 billion dollars.

Keith Fryman

Vice President

Keith is responsible for assisting with preliminary design/coordinating with the clients during all phases of the project. Keith has been with Brett Construction since February of 1999.

Banks Hudson

Chief Financial Officer

Banks is responsible for oversight of the finance and accounting departments in addition to asset and risk management. He has been with Brett Construction since April of 2006.

Sara Arnold

Controller

Sara’s primary responsibility is overseeing all aspects of accounting: payables, receivables, bank accounts, payroll, and financials. Sara has been with Brett Construction since January of 1985.

Christi Crow

Accounts Payable

Christi’s primary responsibilities are accounts payable, payroll and purchase orders. Christi is responsible for entering all data for purchase orders. She is also responsible for entering all accounts payable invoices and preparing them for payment, as well as maintaining corporate payroll. Christi has been with Brett Construction since January of 2003.

Afsi Davis

Construction Assistant / Contract Manager

Afsi creates and manages all AIA documents, enters and organizes data and photos during the construction process and coordinates subcontractor scheduling for warranty issues. She is also responsible for updating the website. Afsi has been with Brett Construction since November 2010.

Mike Ffiske

Project Manager / Estimator

Mike is involved with estimating and is responsible for the VP Command system which involves the ordering of metal buildings. He has been with Brett Construction since July of 1995.

James Bryant

Project Manager / Estimator

James’ responsibilities include estimating projects and assisting with the design and coordination of projects with clients. James has been with Brett Construction since January of 2017.

Jared Frey

Project Manager / Estimator

Jared’s responsibilities include estimating projects and assisting with the design and coordination of projects with clients. Jared has been with Brett Construction since 2014.

Danny Martin

Project Manger / Estimator

Danny’s responsibilities include estimating projects and assisting with the design and coordination of projects with clients. Danny has been with Brett Construction since April of 2015.

Nick Hadley

VP of Estimating / PM

Nick’s responsibilities include estimating projects and assisting with the design and coordination of projects with clients. Nick has been with Brett Construction since August of 2005.

Cheryl Butala

Engineering Manager

Cheryl is responsible for overseeing the development of all drawings required for permitting and construction of buildings. She interacts with the sales/estimating department and customers to develop preliminary design sketches. She is also responsible for obtaining local and state permits for construction. Cheryl has over 32 years design experience in wood and steel construction. She has been with Brett Construction since December of 1986.

Megan Miller

CAD Operator

Megan has degrees in Architectural, Mechanical, and Civil Computer Aided Design Drafting as well as a drafting certificate. She is responsible for developing drawings required for permitting and construction of buildings, including design, revisions, coordinating, copying, distribution and historical records. She is also accountable for required documents for obtaining permits. Megan has been with Brett Construction since May of 2005.

Terry Rothwell

General Superintendent

Terry has worked in the construction field for over 28 years. His specialty is concrete and foundations. As the General Superintendent, he is responsible for field operations, safety oversight and crew scheduling. Terry is OSHA trained and First Aid/CPR certified. Terry has been with Brett Construction since 1989.

Josh Markham

General Counsel

Josh is responsible for negotiating, drafting and reviewing contracts, leases, agreements, title policies, corporate and other legal documents as well as assessing the legal risks and general counsel on legal matters. He has been with Brett Construction since 2015.

Lauren Rafferty

Administrative Assitant

Performs administrative and office support activities for multiple supervisors. Duties include fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing visitors, word processing, creating spreadsheets and presentations, and filing. She has been with Brett Construction since 2016.
